urbi takes ECC students for a ride.

Everyone knows the old saying: ‘once you learn how to ride a bike, you never forget it.’ These days, it’s more important than ever that we don’t forget all the positives a good bike ride can bring, including increased mental and physical fitness, the ability to avoid pesky morning traffic, not having to worry about parking, saving the planet from unnecessary pollution, and heaps more.

To help Edith Cowan College (ECC) students enjoy all these perks, the urbi team headed down to the Joondalup campus to offer students a free urbi bike tour of Joondalup. This tour took in all the sights of Joondalup, including all the popular riding spots, bike path areas, and the location of popular shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and recreational facilities.

The urbi team also taught ECC students how to safely ride urbi bikes on the road, including proper hand signals, riding in formation and other general road safety tips.

The response to our urbi bike tours was overwhelmingly positive, with all tours booked out and plenty of students rediscovering their love of riding. With urbi bikes now available for free to ECC students, plus the option to keep urbi bikes overnight for easy transport to and from campus, we hope to see even more students getting out and about with urbi.
